On October 13, 2015 I joined the ranks of the thyroidless. I went in for a right side thyroidectomy being told it was probably not cancer. I was told that if it was I would have a total thyroidtectomy. Needless to say it was cancer and thus, the beginning of my journey! I was told it was no big deal; just some radioactive iodine and a pill everyday for the rest of my life and it would be like nothing happened! Well 2 years later and it is still not fine and I know I am not alone. This is the reason I started this blog. To have a place people could come to share their stories. The struggles, the triumphs, what worked for you and what didn't. I have found it difficult to find information on living without a thyroid. Not hypothyroidism, (there is plenty of that) but not much for those of us with no thyroid or maybe those who have had their's killed off. From my experience doctors aren't much help either. Maybe if we come together, we can help each other; even if it's just reading each other's stories and just knowing we aren't alone! So please if you have a story to share or advice to give click the contact section and provide me your information so I can allow you the opportunity to share.
